Quaker Parrot Growth Charts
Updated Sept. 13, 2007
When I first started raising baby quakers from day one, I was frustrated to find very little information that I could use as a guide for raising babies from hatch.  The chart I'm adding to now is from my current singleton baby quaker.  His weight gains are at the high end of what one would expect.  Keep in mind that because of the indiscriminate mixing of the different quaker subspecies, a given pair might produce chicks that are considerably larger or smaller than these weights.  The most important information for the average person is the daily percentage weight gains, and the day that the baby hits its peak weight, not the actual numbers.  As time allows, I'll by adding 2 more charts from babies that I consider average and low normal from previous clutches. The parent birds weigh 112g(mom) and 125g(dad).  At the very least, babies are expected to double their weight by day 5, and double it again by day 9.
High End Weight gains for baby Quaker incubator hatched at 99.3 degrees.
