Diva in December, 2007.  About a year and a half old.

Diva is Ellie and Oscar's first baby.  She hatched on June 1st, 2005.  She is a very sweet and full of attitude little amazon girl.  She sprouted her first yellow nape feather when she was one year old.  At one and half years old, she has a full row of yellow feathers on her neck.  She was a very cuddly baby, but has turned into a more typical amazon as she has matured.  She loves to come over for a quick scratch, and gives really gentle kisses.  But like most amazons, she can be easily overstimulated, and I frequently have to put her down for a few minutes to cool off before picking her up again.  She is the little birdie ambassador of my house.  She is the only big bird I have that can be easily passed on to another person and trusted not to bite or overwhelm them. Her favorite toys are ones that she can hang upside down from the top of her cage and beat up on.  She now has several words in her vocabulary, but her favorite is "no."  She has figured out how to use the word in context and fequently chastises both me and the dog if we are doing something she doesn't like.  I also get a "no" when she gets into trouble and I have to put her back in her cage or take something away from her.
